Lisa Pontious, CNM, is a staff midwife and our current Clinical Director. After completing her clinical internship within the Navajo Nation in northern Arizona and graduating from Frontier Nursing University in 2013, she became one of the founding midwives and owners of the birth center.

Prior to entering graduate school, Lisa worked as a labor and delivery nurse and childbirth instructor for 18 years. Her professional interests include healthcare disparities and public health. 

Lisa met her husband, Jay, while in Belize, Central America, on a medical and dental mission trip. Her passions include her grandsons, Rowan and Milo, travel, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
